Welcome to the NEW PSU Anime Club Web Site

Welcome to the home on the Web for the Plymouth State University Anime Club.  Please pardon our webdust and the handful of broken links as we continue to settle into our new site engine.  New features are coming on-line all the time, and this is also your one-stop-shop for all information concerning the club.  Whether you're an active student member or an interested third party, we encourage you to sign up and participate in our community.  Thanks!

April 23 Newsletter

Hey everyone!

This is just a short and sweet little newsletter to just remind you of the things that are coming up in the very near future!

Next week’s meeting is MANDATORY, so please try to be there unless you have some very legitimate excuse for missing the meeting. We will be voting on this week’s nominations for officers. The ballots have been edited, and thus look like this:

President – Krista Weiser

Vice President – Alex Wiles, Niki Clairmont

Secretary – Matt Clive, Alex Kimbell and Megan Knight

Treasurer – Frank Shepherd

It’s important to keep in mind that the people on this ballot are the people that will be potentially running club next year. That in mind, please try to keep personal biases aside while casting your vote, as those people will be the ones who make all the big decisions in the coming year.

Another little reminder is that Wednesday nights we are having our second meeting, and for those interested we are in the middle of watching Ouran High School Host Club, for those of you who are interested.

And finally, next meeting in addition to nominations we’ll also be having our own little award ceremony for all of club! Make sure to show up and you might get something good!

That’s all the news for this coming week. Enjoy the nice weather we’re due to have!

April 15 Newsletter

Hello, fellow Anime Club Members

This week is supposed to be beautiful, so my first order of business is this: go outside! Enjoy the nice weather!

That aside, there’s a good chunk of announcements to be made. First and foremost, please note that if you’re not already aware, the Bake Sale has been cancelled, due to lack of interest all around. If you spent money on baking stuffs thinking that we’d be baking, come find an officer and we’ll work something out.

Another happy reminder, let’s not forget that the first “Series Night” is this Wednesday is Boyd 001, where we will all be getting together to pick a series and start watching it! Note, this does not mean that we won’t be meeting on Mondays, but Wednesdays will be Business-Free. If you have any suggestions that you’d like to watch on Wednesday nights, now is the chance to out in your input before any decisions are made.

Nominations for the superlatives are in, and we’ll be voting next week for our 50-subject superlative winners. Make sure you show up so you can have in on that! Also, on the same night, we’ll be nominating officers for next year. If you are a paid member for club, it is HIGHLY recommended that you attend so that you can have a say in who you want as an officer. The voting will be the week after next.

Next week we’ll also be talking more about our “trip” that we’re trying to plan. Right now, it looks like reservations at Moritomo’s should be made, and plans to see Speed Racer are underway. We’ll talk more about this next week, so yet another good reason to make sure you show up.

Also, remember to keep checking the website! We should have our poll about what you guys want us to buy for club in by no later than tomorrow night, so make sure you check and vote! This is you big chance to get us to buy what you want, so don’t let it slip by!

And finally, start pulling out your DDR pads and firing up your crockpots! The annual DDR Night and newly created Ramen-off is just four meets from now! Start thinking up a super secret recipe, and you might win something special!

That’s all for now!

Newsletter
Zimbra Mail is having some difficulties with mass-sending emails, so make sure you check the website regularly for newsletter updates.

Real brief newsletter here, outlining some upcoming stuff:

First of all, a reminder of the Orchard Trip this Saturday. Meet in the FPL at 10, for a 10:15 departure. Be sure to bring cash or check if you want to purchase things at the farmstand beyond the one bag of apples club is buying for you. The farmstand doesn't take card.

Secondly, we had a fundraiser planned for this week, but it's been knocked back to next week. It'll be a bakesale, and tabling sheets will be available at Monday's meeting.

Monday's Meeting is also our annual Halloween Party. We'll be watching "They Will Eat Your Face" (Alex's Zombie Movie), Kakurenbo, Ghost Stories, and more. Bring horror/horror parody anime of your own to vote on for what else we view.

Finally, a reminder that the $35 for Anime Boston registration is due on Monday the 29th. If you can't pay us by then, let Laurel know, and she'll talk to you individually.

Have a good week, and for those of you we don't see at the Orchard Trip, see you on Monday, Boyd 001, 8pm!

Newsletter, Sept 17, 2007!
ANIME CLUB, HEY, ANIME CLUB!

Yeah yeah, I know this has been awhile coming. Your dearest secretary has't had much time to sit down and write up a newsletter, so you'll take what you get and say thank you. :P (I'm sure the president would tell you that "the secretary hasn't had time" roughly translates to "the secretary did nothing but play Xenosaga and watch Gurren Lagann all weekend", but who wants to listen to the president, anyway? Besides, she sat there and watched me play anyway, so it's not like she has room to talk, anyway.)

Aaaaanyway. A huge thanks to everyone who helped out with our 50/50 raffle, either by tabling, buying tickets, or coming by the table to provide moral support for your fellow members.... or just mock them endlessly. We raised over $70, which is a REALLY promising outlook for our first fundraiser!

On that note, our next fundraiser will be coming up shortly! Your officers are hard at work coming up with more ideas on how to put the "fun" in convincing the student body to give us it's money..... Uh. I mean "fundraising", so if you've got any suggestions, direct them to Krista (she's the VP and Fundraising Coordinator, for you newbies). Like we've said, we wanna do a lot of fundraising to help pay for our awesome club activities!

Speaking of club activities, we've got some awesome ones coming up soon ones coming up soon for all full-time members (PS: PAY YOUR DUES)!
